Woman, Life, Freedom: Films of Iran at Kirkland Library

Join Peyvand in partnership with the King County Library System each Tuesday in November to celebrate the rich tradition of Iranian cinema, at the Kirkland Library.

To mark the one-year anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death and the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in Iran, we will feature a spectrum of women's voices from top directors. Shannon Ghanbari of the Iran Film Initiative at Peyvand will introduce the films.

November 7: Cold Sweat  عرق سرد

About the film: Iran's national women’s futsal team makes the Asian Games final in Malaysia. But at the airport on departure day, the team captain, who is in the middle of an acrimonious divorce, finds that her husband hasn’t signed the document to permit her exit from the country. She decides to fight back against the patriarchal system.
