Shahrzad Shams, President

Shahrzad Shams is a newly elected Puget Sound Educational Service District board member serving the 4th district. She is a retired faculty in the Persian and Iranian Studies program housed in the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures at the University of Washington. She served as the Chair of the Iran Film Initiative for the Seattle International Film Festival, from 2015-2023. Shahrzad serves as a liaison between the University of Washington and the Iranian American community.
